The PEC Alliance (PECA) is dedicated to advancing global decarbonization efforts by establishing and promoting the Power Emissions Certificate (PEC) Standard. PECA oversees the methodology of the PEC registry, which is operated by Clean Incentive.

Power Emissions Certificates (PECs)

PECs are Emissions-Focused RECs designed to convey ownership of grid avoided emissions. They provide a more accurate and standardized tool for energy buyers to match carbon emissions and hourly energy on a global scale.

Create a robust methodology that combines hourly Energy Attribute Certificates (EACs) with marginal avoided emissions.
Ensure accurate quantification of the carbon impact of energy as it enters the grid, whether generated or stored.

Provide guidelines on using PECs to match energy buyers' induced emissions for robust and accurate emissions matching.
Support energy buyers in achieving their sustainability goals through reliable and verifiable emissions data.

Operate the PEC registry with integrity and transparency, governed by the PECA advisory board.
Continuously review and update the PEC Standard to reflect advancements in technology and changes in regulatory landscapes.
