The Power Emissions Certificate Alliance (PECA) is dedicated to advancing global decarbonization efforts by promoting the adoption of the PEC Registry. PECA oversees the methodology of the PEC registry, which is operated by Clean Incentive.

Power Emissions Certificates (PECs)

PECs are Emissions-Enhanced hourly RECs designed to convey ownership of all attributes of Carbon Free Energy (CFE). They provide an accurate and standardized market instrument for energy buyers to enable any procurement strategy.

Quality and Transparency

Develop and Maintain the

PEC Methodology

Comply with existing timestamping standards such as EnergyTag to issue GCs.
Maintain a robust methodology that combines these GCs with marginal carbon impact.

Publication of the PEC Storage Methodology

Provide guidelines on issuing PECs to energy storage projects to include utility batteries and other storage technologies to participate in corporate procurement and carbon accounting.

Governance and Oversight

Operate the PEC registry with integrity and transparency, governed by the PECA advisory board.
Continuously review and update the PEC methodology to reflect advancements in technology and changes in regulatory landscapes.

Provide educational resources and support to help stakeholders understand and implement PECs effectively.
Encourage collaboration among industry leaders, policymakers, and environmental organizations to drive innovation.
